Obituary

Adoracion is the third child of the late Mr. Felix de Los Reyes and Mrs. Engracia dela Cruz de Los Reyes, born on September 11, 1964. Adore,
as we most fondly call her, was baptized at the Immaculate Conception Church, where she also received her confirmation, first communion, and first confession. She had her elementary education at the Mariano Marcos Elementary School, and high school education
at a catholic school, the Immaculate Conception Academy, where she was nurture as a child of God. In fact, she was very close to the SSpS sisters running the Catholic school. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Commerce, majored in Accounting at one of
the most prestigious universities in the Philippines, the Saint Louis University, Baguio City. Just after graduation, Adore immediately landed a job. She had the privilege of working as an Administrative Assistant at the Food and Agriculture Organization of
the United Nations for over 18 years. This time allowed her to learn the importance of humility, honesty, and loyalty as her parents and the catholic education taught her. She continued to carry these lessons throughout her lifetime. Adore’s first husband,
Jose Garcia, Jr. was an entomologist. He worked with an Experimental Station of a German company that developed pesticides. Together they had two children. Unfortunately, her son was born with a congenital heart anomaly, and at the early age of six months required
him an open heart surgery and passed away just after the surgery in December 1997. Over the six months that followed, her husband was diagnosed of a very rare case of cancer that had metastasized at a terminal stage and passed away in September 2, 1998. Despite
these unfortunate circumstances, Adore continued to grow and viewed obstacles as new challenges to overcome. Looking for a better life. Adore and her daughter, Ia Griselle Felicia, received tremendous support from family, friends, and co-workers. One of her
bosses suggested she go to the United States and wrote her a letter of support, which granted her and Ia, 10 years of entry to the U.S. They continued to live in Manila until 2007. She remained a widow for 11 years until one of Adore`s sister introduced her
to Leandro, her second husband and the two corresponded by email before they were later married. He retired from the Navy as Petty Officer First Class. Leandro, her husband, still works with the Military Sealift Command (MSC) of the United States Navy as Chief
Electrician, under U.S.N.S. Amelia Earheart stationed in Virginia. They don’t see one another as often as they would like because most of the time he is on deployment working on logistics on Navy ships overseas, but he is a wonderful husband and great father
to Ia. While Ia worked toward her ASN at the University of Saint Francis Crown Point, Indiana and BSN at Purdue University, Adore also furthered her education and received a Medical Administrative Assistant Diploma from Everest College, and worked as an Office
Manager and Medical Administrative Assistant Extern for various companies. When Ia graduated, they moved to California for better opportunities. Adore worked as a Home Care Aide and got Residential Care Facility for Elderly Administration Certified and Ia became
BSN RN licensed in California. Adore continued to work at Reneissance where she was awarded the most outstanding employee a few months after being hired, a testament that she always put a hundred and one percent of her effort in everything that she did. She
was a very loving sister to her 10 siblings. As a matter of fact, she helped her siblings not only emotionally but also extended financial support to help send her other siblings to college. She became the family's religious advisor. Remained helpful to her
siblings including her nieces and nephews till the end. Adore loved cooking. She always cooked the perfect pancit, crispy eggrolls, the best tinola, the mouth-watering adobo, the most delicious igado, the most tasteful dinengdeng and a very genuine ilocano
(GI) pinakbet , and many more. She was the most religious in the family that anyone who needed emotional comfort and guidance would call for her help as her favorite line `To God Be The Glory ". For even in her last battle in life, God remained her refuge.
