Obituary

Our dad, Alex, really enjoyed life and really dedicated his last 4 - 5 months of his life taking care of our mom Suzanne, who has been in nursing care since October 2019. He was really hoping that she would be able to come home someday.

When not taking care of our mom, Suzanne, our dad liked spending his day selling antiques and collectibles online. He had accumulated many awesome pieces over the years and he kept himself busy posting items online.

Dad also enjoyed writing poetry and telling corny jokes, sometimes to the embarrassment to us kids. That is what made him unique and what everyone will miss about him.

Our dad never had a problem speaking his mind and you always knew where you stood with him. He really enjoyed talking to people and loved playing and making children laugh, especially his grandchildren. He always had a toy or treat ready for them every time he saw them!

Alex, our dad will be missed, but he is in a better place now and we’ll get to see him again someday!

My deepest sympathy to Alex’s wife and three children for the loss of their husband and father. Alex and I became close friends over the years when He moved into Murrieta several years ago. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses Alex was contacted by our Congregation and started attending meetings. He loved get there early to stand by the front door greeting everyone with a smile and handshake. He especially loved the children who often received a small gift of candy from him. As his daughter said, he was always ready with a corny joke or poem but he was loved and his presence will be missed.

My family and I are so shocked and saddened. Our hearts hurt. We all loved your beautiful husband and father. Never had an unkind thing to say about anyone. He was always so upbeat. He would read us new poems he’d written. Such a kind welcoming person. We send prayers of comfort and Peace for all of the hearts he touched. He, our Friend and spiritual brother one day soon we shall welcome him back in Gods Promised Paradise. Tammy, Clorissa, Ashton and Seaghan

We are so surprised and sad to hear of Alex’s passing! My boys and and I will miss his cheerful nonstop kidding and hellos! He made a wonderful memorable impression on my kids, which is rare for young boys! They too genuinely expressed their sorrow in not being able to visit with him again. My heart does out to Suzanne and your family in this especially lonely distressing time we are in. May you all have the hope he did of seeing each other again in a better future. Much love, Lesley, Connor, Nikolas and Andrew Hagen.
