Carlos Valenciano, age 66, entered eternal rest after six years of his battle with cancer.
He was born to Manuel Valenciano and Nora Ramirez in San Jose, Costa Rica, on Oct. 4, 1953. At 15 years old, he worked with his uncles in their well-known and reputable, Valenciano Mechanic Shop. Growing up together since the age of 12, he married Maria (Chaves) Valenciano (Mimi) at 17 years old. He had his first son, Carlos Roberto Valenciano (Robert), in 1971. He then left Costa Rica and moved to New York in 1972. With his immense knowledge and determination to provide for his family, he found work as a Mechanical Technician. He then had a second son, Allan Valenciano in 1974, and moved to California in 1977.

Carlos was a very hard working man who was honest and straight forward. Characterized by his family-centered values, he was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Carlos enjoyed watching NASCAR, the Pittsburgh Steelers, soccer, camping in Glamis, and spending quality time with family and friends.

He traveled to Costa Rica several times to enjoy visiting his family and the beautiful country in which he was born. Similarly, Carlos often stated his affection for the United States and was proud to be American.

He leaves behind many family and friends to walk peacefully with God but will, in time, be reunited with them again.

I’m sadden to hear about Carlos passing, I will always remember him as the “coach” he coached my Brother soccer team, I have awesome memories of him and the dedication he had for the boys.

I’ll always remember visiting and spending time at their home with the boys and of course their dog. His presence will definitely be missed but the beautiful memories will never be taken from us.

Valenciano family I’m so sorry for your loss and I hope the beautiful memories you have of Carlos with keep him present in your life.

May he Rest In Peace.

DEAR Grandpa Carlos, it hurts, I never said GOOD-BYE to my “partner in crime”. I will keep with me the good times that we shared from frequent pizza runs to getting caught riding bikes a little too far into the Palace of Versailles. I’ll miss convincing you to get on rides because of your fear of heights and throughout the ride just hear you say “I don’t know about this Meli” throughout the 2 min ride & just laugh for hours after just talking about your facial expressions. You were such an amazing person with so much to give but I understand it was just time for you to REST IN PEACE till we meet again, on God we must rely upon, I miss and love you, GOOD-BYE.
