Obituary for Carolyn Lois Glick (1939-2020)
It is with both great sadness and elated celebration that we announce the passing of Carolyn Lois Glick (Suckle) of Murrieta, California on January 30th, 2020. Carolyn was born September 12, 1939 to Albert and Lois (Mundell) Suckle in Pueblo, Colorado. She is predeceased by her mother, father and husband of 36 years, Ernie Glick. She is survived by her brother Ronald Suckle (Wife Carol), her children Suzette Hudelston (Husband Ken) and Bruce Glick (Wife Sandi), four grandchildren Kristin Hudelston, Kaity McKenzie (Husband John), Nate Glick (Wife Chelsea) and Danielle Glick, and great grandson Josiah McKenzie.
Carolyn loved family, music and most importantly her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was always steadfast and confident in her faith and it was one of the things she held onto while Alzheimer's stole many of her other memories. Mom grew up fearless and bold and we are all so thankful she passed this on. She skied (water and snow) like the wind, played her pianos (yes, she had two and wanted more) with passion and was known as the neighborhood “cat lady” because she never met a stray cat she could pass up feeding and making her own. While Mom had no known vices, she was a proudly self-declared Chocoholic.
Her final wishes were to be cremated and ashes scattered at the Glick family farm in Illinois with Dad, and we will honor that for her.
There will be a brief memorial and celebration service at the Murrieta Valley Funeral Home, 24651 Washington Avenue, Murrieta, CA 92562 (Ph 951-696-0626) starting at 6:30 PM WST on Monday February 3rd, 2020 and all are most welcome.
In lieu of flowers, Mom will be honored for donations to be made to the Lakewood United Methodist Church Music Program, 1922 Topf Rd., North Little Rock, AR 72116; or to the Dumb Friends League, 2080 South Quebec Street, Denver, CO 80231 (ddfl.org).
