Leonhard T. Zorn was age 93 when he passed away on 02-12-2020 in Temecula, CA. He was born in Two Rivers, WI on 10-17-1926 to Raymond and Anna Zorn (Behnke). Len was raised on a dairy farm in Lena, WI. Len and Io Mae Marquardt grew up on neighboring farms and attended the same one room schoolhouse. They were married on 07-22-1950 and had 42 wonderful years together. In 1945, he was drafted into the Army and sent to Germany for 30 months as Provost Sgt. in charge of a Military Police Unit. In January 1951, he was recalled to the Army for the Korean Conflict and sent to Fort Holabird, Baltimore, MD where he was promoted to M Sgt. after completing Counter Intelligence Corps School. Len was the Chief of Police of Denmark, WI from 1950 until 1953 (excluding service during the Korean Conflict). From 1957 to 1963, Len was an Investigator and Polygraph Examiner for the Brown Co Sherriff Department. The family moved to Southern California in 1963. Len worked as a Supervisor in Security at the McDonnell Douglas Space System Center in Huntington Beach, CA until retiring in 1987.

Len enjoyed working on projects, traveling all over the United States and the world, camping, playing games, and spending time with his family and many friends. His sense of humor, caring nature, willingness to help others, and warm personality will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, son, brother, and uncle who will always remain in our hearts.

Len was preceded in death by his wife, Io Mae (Marquardt); infant daughter, Diane; son-in-law, Paul Davis (Donna’s husband); and his three brothers Orval, Marvin, and Laverne. Len is survived by his sister Marcia Whitmer (Zorn) and her husband Jack; his two daughters: Donna Davis and Debra Knecht and her husband Richard; 4 grandchildren: Christy Dickson (Davis) and her husband Robert, Sean Davis and his wife Marie (Revard), Jason Knecht, and Amanda Knecht; 3 great grandchildren: Nathaniel and Abigail Dickson, and Audrey Davis.

He will be laid to rest at the Riverside National Cemetery with his loving wife, Io Mae.

Rest in peace, Dad.
