Obituary

Manuel Macias Jr. was born on October 16, 1941 in Manila, Philippines to Carmen Ramirez de Cartagena Tomas and Manuel Macias. “Manny” or “Chiquito” as they loving nicknamed him was the second of four children: Carmen Macias Galli (B 1940- d 2005), Miguel Macias (b. 1944), Roberto Macias (b 1947).

Manny grew up playing soccer and played for the Philippine National Team and ended up playing soccer for the US Army while serving in Germany during the Vietnam War. He met his sweetheart wife, Maria in 1966 and they married in 1971 in Reno, Nevada. They were sealed for all time and eternity on April 11, 2007, in the San Diego Temple.

Manny and Maria welcomed their daughter Melissa in June of 1974 followed by their son, Juan-Carlos in January 1977. Manny was an accomplished businessman who served as VP and President of several logistics and transportation companies. Manny had many loves, watching Real Madrid soccer games, painting and golf, but most of all his family. His family and being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints were his everything.

Manny was a kind, generous and loving person. He would go out of his way to make sure that the people he cared about were taken care of. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was a snappy dresser. He had an impeccable taste of clothes and good food. He always smelled good. Manny made friends with everyone he met.

He is survived by his wife Maria Concepcion, his daughter Melissa Maas (K.C.), his son Juan-Carlos Macias (Patty) and his six grandchildren: Kayla Maas (21), Nicholas Maas (17), Elena Macias (16), Thomas Macias (14), Ryan Macias (8), and Adam Macias (4), Brothers Roberto Macias and Miguel Macias.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Missionary General Fund https://ldsp-pay.ldschurch.org/donations/church/missionary-fund?cid=MemoriaMissionary

Till we meet again, Dad. We love you!
