Martha Munoz Lopez was born in Somerton, Arizona on March 7, 1941. Martha was born to
the union of Rev. Francisco R. and Belen M. Munoz. Martha was the older sister of the
following siblings, Mary Ann Munoz Zimmerman, Ruth Munoz Fredricksen and Francisco
Lazaro Munoz.
Martha passed away on March 5, 2021, in Encinitas, California. She is preceded in death by
her parents Rev. Francisco R. and Belen M. Munoz, brother, Francisco Lazaro Munoz,
daughter, Patricia Ann Arce, grandmother Carmen Granillo Mayon and husband, Arthur E.
Lopez.
Martha is survived by her children, daughter Abigail French, son-in-law Ron French, son,
Frank Arce III, daughter-in-law Yvette Arce, sisters Mary Ann Munoz Zimmerman and Ruth
Munoz Fredricksen, brother-in-law David Fredricksen, grandchildren Andrew and Anthony
French, Monique, Alyssa, Francisco IV, Victoria Arce, Christina, and great grandson Alec
Sellers, Jeffrey and Sarah Duarte and Zachary Farina along with many nephews and nieces.
Martha graduated from San Diego High School in June 15, 1959 and became a born-again
believer in the same year. Martha married Francisco Arce II on October 4, 1959 and to their
union was born Abigail French, Francisco Arce III and Patricia Ann Arce. In later life
Martha married Arthur E. Lopez in 1997 until his final days in December of 2012.
Martha went on to develop a career in mortgage banking that lasted for forty years. She held
a public notary license throughout her career. Martha retired in 2007. She used her musical
talents in service to her church. She was accomplished on the accordion, the piano and the
organ. In her early musical career she recorded as the pianist for the National City Apostolic
Church Youth Choir.
