1967-1971

Ron was born in Newark, New Jersey to World War II veteran Samuel Gangi and his wife Yolanda Gangi. Ron played drums in multiple bands throughout school and music was always a large part of his life. He and attended Essex Catholic school. Ron enlisted in the US Navy in 1967 and was stationed at Camp Pendleton as a Corpsman, dental technician. He was promoted to DT2 before getting an honorable discharge in 1971.
He spoke Italian, Spanish, German, Latin, and was a lifelong student of language. He could cook a gourmet meal, dance to any music, and he was the life of every party. His love of life was infectious and he will be missed dearly.

He is survived by his daughter Yolanda Bryson and her son Adam Bryson. His daughter Elizabeth Shepherd her husband Kyle Shepherd and their sons Porter and Owen. His son Samuel Gangi. His son Josiah Layfield and his boys Beck and Nash.

He was preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Yolanda Gangi. His second wife and the mother of Samuel and Elizabeth, Carrie Sanchez. And his partner in crime and son in law Brad Bryson.

I am so sorry to hear of Ron’s passing. He was a kind man who loved his children, and extended his love to the friends of his children. He will be missed.
