Shirley moved to California with her parents, Riley and Dora, and her 4 siblings. At 15 she married her first husband Hershal Reeves and had there 4 children. They were married for a short while. After which she meet and married her second husband Thomas Gerald Parker Sr. and had a child together. Between them, they had a total of 7 children. They were married for 45 years until his passing in late November 2014.

She received so much joy from all of her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. She was an amazing mother to all of her children including the children from her second husband. She was very well-read, her favorite authors being Stephen King and James Paterson. She also loved her puzzle books, whenever you saw her at the kitchen table she was working on a new puzzle. And every weekday around 11 in the morning, you could count on her to be at the T.V. watching her soaps. Some of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, would sit with her and watch an episode or two.

Shannon Gaylor and her husband Adam Gaylor of Perris, CA, Seena Reeves of Pueblo, CO, Calvin Reeves and wife Becky of Pueblo, CO, Hershal Ray Reeves and wife Bridget of Pueblo, CO, Judy Reeves of Northern CA, Thomas Gerald Parker Jr. and wife Sherry of Kansas.

Brother Wayne Griffith and wife Leslie of Anaheim Hills, CA, Sisters Vickie San Nicholas of Hemet, CA, Virginia McLaughlin of Riverside, CA.
